Ford’s Theatre was famously the site of John Wilkes Booth’s dastardly assassination of Abraham Lincoln. While the president and his wife were enjoying a performance of Our American Cousin, the assassin shot Lincoln in the back of the head. The government quickly appropriated the theatre so that no public amusement would take place in such a place.
This patch bears the front of the theatre with a bright blue sky. Beyond being a great collector’s item, and a way to show you’ve visited this famous landmark, your purchase of this embroidered patch goes to support the National Park Service’s mission of educating future generations.
